UK: Stop the executions of torture victims in Bahrain

Mohammed Ramadhan and Husain Moosa are political prisoners in Bahrain. They were tortured. Husain's eventual ‘confession’ was used to sentence both men to death.

James Cleverly, the UK Minister of State for Middle East and North Africa, stated in July 2020 that if “the death penalties are upheld through the Court of Cassation process, the UK will publicly and loudly remind Bahrain of our opposition to the death penalty.”

Dear James Cleverly MP,

In July 2020, you committed to speaking up for Mohammed Ramadhan and Husain Moosa if Bahrain’s Court of Cassation upheld their death sentences, promising that: “the UK will publicly and loudly remind Bahrain of our opposition to the death penalty, and we will continue to seek to have [the death sentences] set aside”

A few days later, the court did just that. Yet so far the  British Government has made no public call for clemency. The two men have suffered and continue to suffer every day.

Please speak up for them and ask publicly that their death sentences are quashed. Their lives and the British government's reputation rely on this.
